A Playoff will ruin college football!

by Dave
(Birmingham, AL)

It will undercut the importance of regular season games.

It will underscut the importance of conference championship games.

Few fans can travel to 2 or more sites for playoff games leading to NC.
Playoffs give second chances to losers but not winners. (NFL Examples: AZ Cardinals this yr and NY Giants last yr).

$$$$ - A playoff system is just asking for the NCAA to take over and spread the money among all 120 institutions, many/most of whom have not invested enough to build first rate programs.
Playoffs do no better job of determining who is really the best team in a given year. They just show who is hottest at the end.

Playoff in BCS is Essential
by: Jeff

Only the Meidia and University Presidents vote against the Playoff Format. They are greedy. They dislike change. They want status quo. They love their cherished little bowl trophies that stay within the confines of the Conference Walls.

I say boycott. I say stamp their little trophies with a NO vote. I wont buy anything with BCS logo on it. I will support my school (Go Hawks) but Forever this day forward the BCS is dead to me.

BCS Playoff and Travel
by: Ken

Most fans will follow their team no matter what. Not everyone. Just the "true fan". To say a playoff would ruin it all is crazy and unknown at this time. In fact, most of the bowls we saw on TV this year were half empty. So, the real problem is we have a diluted product with way too many Bowl Games.

I predict that in the next two years we will be down to half the number of bowls you see today. The sponsor money is gone. The world has spoken and we are in a deep recession or depression.

So, playoff? No Playoff? Who cares. Its over and these athletes are toast as their wind fall money is gone. Pros are next.
