Got Batteries? A123Systems Does

Not a day goes by that we are not cringing when driving our cars past the pumps. Well, if A123Systems located in Boston, MA, has anything to do with it then we may all be looking at clean air, no more rising gas prices and for the first time in my lifetime a hope that all is not lost with the transportation industries future when it comes to propulsion. Once in a lifetime there comes an invention from a small obscure company that brings hope and potentially earth shattering results as a byproduct of their hard work and discovery.

A123Systems may have done just this. They have been funding a pool of engineering talent to take battery technology into a whole new field of play. Batteries today either lacked the power or the endurance, no disrespect to the everyready battery bunny, but even he eventually cannot light the city. So, our propulsion engineers continued to build their future gas guzzling transportation vehicles around the fossil fuel oil based prodcuts we all love to hate.

Well, if what we are starting to see in Boston continues to advance and be field tested and qualified then perhaps our days of watching the gas prices bounce around due to politics and unrest in the middle east could be a thing of the past. Is this companies nanotech level discovery a cure all? Not completely as no single source of propulsion and stored energy is 100% full proof. Even their battery technology breakthroughs have limits. But imagine a car that gets 500 Miles Per Gallon? Imagine a car that can recharge by plugging it in to an outlet in your garage?

Now we are talking. We discovered this gem while reading an article on United Airlines. It is definitely a company that we are going to research in more depth and continue to report on with our slant toward alternative energy discoveries and news in general.

For now we tip our hats to Boston and thank the founders and engineers who have taken battery technology to the next level! Best of luck to all. There are times in business that a company has to take charge. These are called tipping points or more openly the moment of truth. We have been watching A123Systems for a couple of years now and see no reason why their product is not widely embraced across all the major auto suppliers.

It puzzles the imagination to think that only the Government seems to see the benefits in their grueling testing of the product. We know it doesn't happen over night but look at the Worlds economy today? It is teetering on collapse and the price of Oil is right at the center of the problem in our opinion.

If the battery technology we are hearing about with A123Systems is even close to reality we should be fast tracking this through Congress and all the Venture Cap funds we can find.

Lets all take an interest in finding out where things stand with revolutionary solutions such as this company seems to have developed.
