Alternative Energy Politics

There has never been a more critical time in our world's history than now when it comes to survival. The decision we make on energy today and in the near term will greatly effect the way future generations have to cope and deal with all of the world's needs not just in America or Europe.
The politics of what we are dealing with are enormous. Oil is the gold of the current generation and it drives everything from the cost of fuel for our vehicles and airplanes to the price of corn in the midwest and heartland of America. The politicians need to set aside their party views and get the private sector involved in the answers to our questions today.
We can no longer afford to just sit back as citizens and either hope this will go away or a miracle "solution" presents itself to us. We have plenty of technology breakthroughs available today. We lack the courage in our governments to do what is right. We should follow the path of countries such as Germany (read earlier on this site) where they have forged ahead with a national Solar Policy that brings the alternative energy of the sun directly to the business and residential markets at price points (funded by the government) that are meaningful and thus decision on alternative energy solutions is in the current tense not the future tense.
Why the American government cannot follow the lead of Germany is beyond my comprehension. We should vote out everyone in office and start fresh with new and innovative thinkers who are not afraid to challenge the middle of the road and old guard and take them to task on energy policies that are going to bring this great nation to it's knees.
Rome fell and so will others if decisions made today do not pan out to a more direct impact on the ability to grow the nations of the world in a manor that provides safe and sane products with the full benefit of renewable energy solutions.
The time is now. The world awaits
