I am in my mid 30's and recently suffered an allergic to Acai. My son is seriously allergic to a wide variety of foods, medications and insects. I have never been allergic to anything, never a spot of ecyema, never a hive not even a glimpse of a rash. I purchased 2 boxes (8ct) of a name brand cereal bar containing Acai. I ate one each day for 13 days but on the 14th day I ate 2. Within minutes my throat was closing, my tongue was swollen and I began to panic. My son has nearly died from these types of reactions so I went straight to the ER before I could no longer breath. The drive was only a 2 mins tops and when I arrived my entire chest and back was covered in hives. I had all of the shots and the antihistamine while in the ER. Yikes, I guess the 2 was 1 too many. Now I am scared to any cereal bars, I ate 15 out of 16 and was fine until the last day. I was greatful to have my sons epi pen with me.

I tried the Acai berry juice and the nxt morning i had blisters in my mouth. Does this mean im allergic?

i started taking the acai cleanse and acai slim 3 days ago, today being the 4th day I noticed that my arms and stomach area have a red, flat rash(no itch) and my face looks like I have a sunburn and feels warm like a fever.. I have been watching this rash all day and it hasn't gone down yet... nothing was different in my diet except for taking this berry....so I am stopping it completely. it's kinda scary and I pray it I get rid of this rash soon.

I drank some acai tea, as it was in a package of herbal teas. My eyes started burning and one swelled up tremendously. The reation eased as I put slices of cucumbers on, but the one eye was swollen for quite some time. I am allergic to very few other things.

since I've worked in & out of the natural industry for over 30 yrs...I am not allergic to many, if any food/vits/herbs and have used acai b/f...I didn't think I'd have a problem w/ acai this time around - but...I have hikes & itching that is growing around the lymph neck area...it started small & is now growing,..thankfully while praying God's healing hand to be upon me - I realized my reaction is not poison ivy, but similar to the reaction to sumac...yrs ago I researched why I was having a poison ivy/sumac reaction when it didn't grow in my area...I decided to research & found that mango trees are in the family or sumac...anyway...when I was praying Acai Berry came to mind...so I started researching...it is amazing how many have had problems w/ hives/itching when using Acai, but when away when stop taking it.......I only take acai powder form in the mornings...tomorrrow will be my 1st morning to stop - praying this is the answer & they itchy hives will be gone asap...
hope this helps others to know they aren't crazy...people can have allergic reactions to various things!!
