America's Election 2008

by David Davenport
(Rome, NY)

McCain Americas Choice

McCain Americas Choice

I suppose I could start out by saying we all will win by November when we finally have closure to what will go down in history as the worst President in the history of the country.

I look at our three standing candidates and I see good and question marks in all. I am a democrat by registration/choice. For those wondering. Of the three Im leaning with McCain. I look within my party and I see potential in Obama but distrust in Clinton. Hillary may have the history of service but she is way too emotional and has hurt the woman movement like no other in my humble opinion.

Obama takes a hit on the chin with class. He shows concern but not hysterical facial expressions or loud words being sprayed over an audience. He is humble. He appears to listen and responds with thought and passion. Hillary is out for control and the power that comes with that. Or at least thats how it appears. She should fire herself as a persons persona is what it is and clearly she is no Bill Clinton on ability. Bill Clinton was a master of diplomacy and had that look that both sides could eventually take sides with.

Back to McCain. McCain tells the truth. His own party is mixed on support for him? Why, because he does or acts in a way that is appropriate for the crisis or need at hand. He is a Republican. He has served on all sides of the equation including a history with the military that is uniquely qualified and admirable. His decision are not always popular with his party but American and it's Allies will be far better off with him and his choices than what the democratic party is suggesting today.

Forced to choose I vote Mr. McCain.

Hillary Is Hurting Our Party
by: Harold in San Francisco

As a democrat for now 55 years I am embarrassed by her lack of unification of our badly beaten up party. As a democrat I can only ask why anyone who continues to Lie and Aplogize is still in this race. Obama gets my vote still but the way this is going I may jump parties and vote McCain.

I want the bets person. I have crossed party lines before and believe this is not the time to do that but Hillary Lies and Apologizes every week.

She has no class. If she is tired now and thus making mistakes whish she states (Kennedy Assassination, Bullets fired on her in Bosnia. All lies and then formal apologies because of how tied she is? Did she not live in the White House with former President Bill Clinton and see what it was like? IF she makes mistakes now what can we and the world expect if elected.

I say no. I say we keep her as far away from the White House as possible.

Another Democrat Jumping
by: Anonymous

It hurts when I see posts like this one. We need all our party members to unite behind our candidates. I fear that this competition has ruined us to the levels we haven't seen. A party divided cannot defeat the GOP.

Having said that, Im not entirely against your view of McCain. In fact, I used to joke about how we should vote for the candidate in the GOP with the least in-party popularity. I think that is Mr. McCain. He is a class individual. Hard at times but tells it like it is. I don't see him getting over powered by a "cheney" like advisor either.
