Because the BCS is God awful and an embarrassment

by George
(Birmingham AL)

My reasoning is very simple... I am an Auburn fan who watched his Tigers get absolutely screwed by the BCS system... AU goes undefeated in the best conference in college football, and wins it's conference title game.. While the Pac Ten and Big Ten don't even have a freaking conference Title game... Yet, the BCS chooses Oklahoma over Auburn in 2004 to play in the Title game and OU gets their asses kicked... It's very rare for a team in the SEC to go undefeated, and AU did that in 2004... Who knows when we will and IF we will ever accomplish that again... Utah gets screwed in 2009, and UGA gets skipped over in 2008.. Boise State gets screwed every year... The BCS should be ashamed of themselves...

BSU keeps winning big...and falling in the polls ugly.
by: Anonymous

There are many choices for the best college football game of all time but at the top of my list you'll always find BSU vs OU. The hook and ladder, the statue of liberty, the running back proposing to the cheerleader right after the game. BSU beat the hottest team in football that year and Adrian Peterson ran for 200+. It should have been for the national championship. I still say BSU was #1 that year.

Auburn was the first
by: Ken

The Auburn Tigers were the first official screw up by the BCS program. Outrage. This was a signal and NO ONE cared to do a thing about it. Great football team. Great Conference. Best in College Football yet this team was sent home for being the best at the wrong time.

Some stop this train. Some one or group find a better way. These kids and fans deserve so much better.

People unite!

Auburn was the start
by: Anne in Michigan

There have been many like Auburn to follow. This year was the worst and thank God its over. From Texas to USC and of course Utah the BCS just threw up on it's self. Fans unite. Sign every petition that comes your way like the one here! I support the effort to ban all products advertised during College Football Games.

It's our only weapon against the big media giants and greedy Universities that control our beloved sports destiny.

This is a shot in a life time. Help with your vote.

Auburn did not get screwed in 2004
by: Sword of Troy

Remember that USC destroyed Auburn in Alabama in 2003. It was USC that was screwed in 2003, 2006, 2007, and 2008 by the bcs. The bcs favors the sec unless USC goes undefeated during the regular season. Check out my slashing sword at the bleacher report dot com!

BCS is toast
by: Nelson, Michigan

Your post is awesome. Im not an Auburn fan but you guys got screwed. Texas, Utah and maybe USC (stretch there) got screwed this year. Who's next.

As far as Im concerned the whole thing is a waste of time and the love of the game is tainted when a Non Champion is chosen every year. Unfair to the winners and losers. Heck, most of losers never lost since no playoff exists. College Football has the fan base but that can change fast if a playoff doesn't show its face soon.

Great post! Love the helmet. How did you do that?
