If the calorie burn problem is too much sitting around then the solution is walking. If you sit at your desk job all day long and just read the screen and slide the chair around you are actually getting a calorie burn result. However, it's extremely low level.
So, what to do you ask? Get up. Get out of your chair every twenty minutes. Read that screen standing up and walk around to stretch your legs, arms and neck. The neck is probably the least stretched part of the body and yet we refer to negative things like a "pain in the neck" so go figure.
If you really want to enhance calorie burn time then think about getting your office desk setup with your monitor slightly risen off the desk. Then place a treadmill in front of it and start walking. Try going for a continuous 1.5 to 2.5 mile per hour setting with a slight elevation if you have that feature. Go for at least tweny minutes and push for thirty if you can spare the time. Do this twice a day. Once in the morning and then again after lunch.
Lunch will easily get you demotivated to work. Always does. Too much deadly sugar and whala you want a nap. So, defeat this period by exercising. Fitness programs do not have to be at the gym and cause you to spend all sorts of money and travel outside the home.
Obesity in the home is also on the rise with home based office workers. Telecommuters who are used to a routine of walking to and from their office and within their office are now just going into their home based office and sitting down. Some for 10 plus hours a day. This is causing a severe rise in type two diabetes as well. The solution? Get up and walk. Set your program up with a schedule and paste into your Outlook Calendar. Finally a good use for that tool!
