Champions are usually undefeated. With the BCS we've had as many as four undefeated teams before.

The 119 teams in division 1, college football play the season to decide a conference champion. Regardless of what conference it is you should have 11 conference champions. All 11 teams should be entitled to play for a division 1 national championship. If this is not true then get them out of division 1 football. There should be a way to have the 11 conference champions, and notre dame if applicable, play 3 extra games to decide what two teams play for the championship. Oh, there would be only 1 extra game for 11/(12 notre dame) teams, 2 extra games for 6 teams, and 3 extra games for 2 teams. Notre Dame, Army, and Navy needs to be put in one of the 11 conferences. These 3 extra games are not to eliminate any team from a bowl game. Once a team in the playoffs dont transfer they would go to the bowl that their conference usually host. Let these 3 extra games be played at home fields of the highest ranked teams, talk about revenue! There should never be but 1 undefeated team at the end of the season. In the past, with the BCS, you've had as many as 4 undefeated teams. When i was growing up and playing sports, just like many of you on the BCS committee, was told if you are undefeated you are the champion. I have the details to this system if anyone is interested. Remember this dont take away the way the polls are done, it dont do away with the bowl games. It gives a true national champion and sends teams to the right bowl game.
