Ok you made your decision to shed the pounds. Great first step. Now where are those diet tips you have heard so much about? This section of our growing family of topics will seek to publish leading information and informational guides on just that, life changing tips for all ages.

Here we seek to simplify. No one likes to have to think about ways to diet. With a few solid tips you can enjoy long term dieting for life versus the yo-yo effect of most of the fad programs that are out there.

Curious About Caffeine Content In Your Food?

We really see a trend in America for smaller portions. For years the battle grounds have been set for more is better. Look at all the fast food dollar meals. How do they do that? Well it's all subsidized through their high margin products like their sugar drinks (soda). We won't bash the names here as there is no need.

Obesity Trends rising!

What if all you did for every meal going forward was down size your plate. I don't know about you but our dinner ware service is huge and I had no idea. The bread plates are as large as my
Dr. Leonard's 125x125
parents meal plates were in the 1960's! So, here's a diet tip, use the middle sized plate for 0your main course! You can still eat your favorite meals but just use a different plate size.

The downside to this of course is left overs. You will be seeing this grow exponentially so true to form think of creative ways to move dinner left overs to next days lunch menu!

Next diet tip, set a pitcher of water in the center of your dinner table. Everyone gets a starter glass full of eight ounces of water. Start each meal by having everyone drink half of their water. Somewhere near the middle of your meal have everyone finish the drink and refill. This will create a sense of fullness in your stomach and curb your desires to keep eating.

The added benefit here is we just don't drink enough water as a culture and this must be one the key natural ingredients that the body needs the most of. So, going forward, give us your thoughts by adding your own tips (see form below). Enjoy!

Totally agree with the down sizing of the plates. What a great idea. In Europe this is not even an issue. I can recall complaints on a recent trip where ...

Ok, I'm not original on this one. Just read this on MSNBC:

"Italian town to pay residents to shed flab Mayor of Varallo starts campaign to fight town's expanding waistlines"

Now, I know it's bad but this is stretching the boarders beyond even my comprehension. Normally I don't like to give you external links but just to show yu that I am not making this one up out of thin air you can read this at MSNBC in their archives.
