Hello,
Happy Holidays to All
May this winter update find you and your families healthy and well as we exit 2009 and usher in the new year. I for one can hardly wait!
Well the world wide global recession muddles on. Some say it has bottomed and some actually point to statistics showing we are growing once again. Great news going into the holidays but just what or who is growing and getting healthier?
When you peel this onion of news back you will notice a common theme among all of the latest reports. The job market is still in decline. Banks are now healthy again and making money once again. Hooray for the banks. But what about the home owners? What about the millions of people still without jobs and the number is not in decline. It is still increasing on a monthly basis. Without jobs there will be NO recovery.
Reading through all the reports there is a common thread. We had to get the financial markets stable. We had to get the individual banks rebalanced. Then all will start to refresh and our great spirit of growth will mount a healthy comeback. Well, what happened to the People? Why were the individual tax payers not reset? This was a once in a lifetime opportunity yet the Wells Fargo Banks, Chase Banks, JP Morgans of the world got all of our money and gave nothing back. Anyone try to talk to your bank these days? Notice the mail lately and all the nice letters about the Credit Card interest fees going Up and Up and Up?
This administration will be judged one day soon. They will have to answer for the mistakes made and the billions wasted when it all could have been solved. This was a historic opportunity that will now be read about in our history books one day soon. Countries like Canada were the model. They were rarely mentioned during all of this world wide crisis yet their economy and banking institutions were and are in good shape. Dare we model our economies like theirs?
Universal Healthcare. A serious issue debated within the western cultures and beyond. The USA is in fierce discussions between the policy makers over the issue of re-tooling America's healthcare system. But do we know which program is the right program for the generations to come let alone the current population?
Something certainly has to be done. There are countries with far more experience in Europe and and North America (hello Canada once again) where they have managed quite well with their healthcare needes for years. Will the United States ever get out of it's own way and solve this dilema? Probably not. We will watch billions flush out to sea over countless debates on what to do or better yet what not to do. Something must be done. Once again we have a great opportunity to reshape our healthcare needs in America. Get with your local politicians and debate this topic face to face. Now is the time. Get involved and make a difference. Your children's children are watching...
