Experience With Spas and Fitness Clubs

by Kimberly
(Reno, NV)

MY EXPERIENCE WITH FITNESS SPAS & CLUBS Total Fitness spas and health clubs have mushroomed all over in a way that evokes both, their need in coping life of today and a doubt about their claims. I have been a professional banker and so have been groomed to not start with an approach doubt of though keeping the sixth sense a little active all along! It was during my last vacation at a hilly resort that the idea of entering a spa for the first time ever beckoned me. I may say it was mainly because our party of six had time. In fact, having never had to fight overweight problem myself, I never felt the need for finding a health club as far as my own fitness was concerned but my wife had gained some kilos before she was diagnosed for thyroid problem.

She was always eager to locate a center that specialized in weight reduction. We went into a spa that looked pretty well organized. The first discussion with the reception staff did inspire most members in our group to try it out. Frankly, I did so quite reluctantly. We were given some introductory tips and allotted sessions to start from the third day.

The physical instructor suggested that we take some half-hour yoga session and then go in for a full body massage. I found the 30 minutes of breathing giving me an impetus to follow the instructor’s advice for the next step. It was this session of massage that made me feel a little awkward. The chamber was appropriately furnished that appealed to me but the masseur’s asking me to remove all clothes did not. I felt somewhat comfortable when he offered me a small piece of cloth to cover my person with. This came as a relief as I found I wasn’t fully exposed. The masseur, a young man with good build asked me quite professionally if I Would like a hard rub. I explained I knew little about hard or soft rubs and left the decision to him.

About ten minutes or so gave me such a relaxation that I started feeling drowsy; may be I dozed off. By the time I opened my eyes, he politely asked me to have a shower. The only amusing part of the session was that the small piece of cloth had shifted location to uncover what I had covered so carefully! Each one in our party was satisfied the way they felt light and fresh. The ten odd similar sessions at the spa surely brought our bodies a better state of relaxation. To give an example, I started feeling less tired walking up even the steeper gradients of the hilly terrain. I have a feeling though it could just be psychological that the sessions at the health club improved my stamina. Now, I have started looking to find time wherever I am to have a session at fitness spas and clubs.
