Elements Of Fat

Fat is a component, which is commonly present in our daily food. If that isn't the worst launch to a paragraph then I'm a genius! I was asked by several clients and friends to talk about Fat so here goes! Some foods, including most fruits and vegetables, do not have any fat. Other foods have more fat. They mainly include nuts, oils, butter, and meats like beef. Fat adds taste to your food and leaves a feel good sensation on your taste buds. In order to replace the flavor lost from fat it is important to add it back in other ways. Try to do experiment with your herbs and spices.

Lower-fat diets have been recommended for health and to help people in order to lose weight. But nutrition experts are saying that fats are more complicated and some kinds of fats are actually good for your health. As an additional benefit, fat in food helps people feel full, so they do not take as much food.

The major kinds of fats in the foods we eat more are saturated, polyunsaturated, monounsaturated and trans fatty acids. Unsaturated fats: These fats are also known as Monounsaturated fats. This type of fats is usually found in plant foods and fish. These fats are good for your heart health. The best of the unsaturated fats are found in olive oil, peanut oil, canola oil, albacore tuna, and salmon etc. Generally unsaturated fats are liquid at room temperature.

Saturated fats:

These fats are solid at room temperature and are not good for your body. Saturated fats are mainly found in meat and other animal products such as butter, cheese, ice cream, lard, red meats and all milk except skim. Saturated fats are also present in palm and coconut oils, which are frequently used in commercial baked goods. Eating too much saturated fat can cause various health problems for you. It raises blood cholesterol levels and increases the risk of heart disease in your body.

Trans fats:

Trans fats are also include in certain foods which you can buy at the general store or in a restaurant, such as snack foods, baked goods, and fried foods. These fats are found in margarine, particularly in the sticks. If hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils are listed in ingredients, the food definitely contains trans fats. Like saturated fats, eating too much of Trans fats can raise your cholesterol and increase the risk of heart disease.

Polyunsaturated fats:

These fats are present in corn, soybean and sunflower oils. These types of fats are considered to be less problematic for your health compare to saturated fats.

A high level of fat present in your body is a major risk factor for coronary heart disease, which leads to heart attack, and also increases the risk of stroke. If you want to get relief from these heart diseases cook the food with the help of steam, stir-fry, broil, bake or sauté meats.

Various studies on fat suggests that keeping dietary fat less daily, reduces the risk of heart disease, certain types of cancer and diabetes. Eating lots of fiber-rich foods is one of the simplest and easiest things you can do to reduce fat present in your body.
