What ever you decide try to moderate. Don't do too much weight or reps all at once. Take it slow and build up gradually and if you are trying to decide on more weight vs more reps always go lighter on the weight choice and higher on the reps.

No one is a freak. A name is something that should never be taken seriously when it is meant to harm oneself. Pity the person who cannot provide a positive critique on another.
Building up one's body is a very good idea. It leads to a higher self esteem and also positive views from friends and family that should not matter to oneself but they clearly do to all of us.
Exercise programs should be gradual. If possible you should consult a trained professional and be in communication with your family doctor if possible of course. There are simple things like stretching and low weight (mass) build up for the arms and legs. We always recommend a light run of a half mile to get the blood flowing to the muscles and thus be ready to take on more effective weight in your training.
It doesn't take much to get the body of your dreams. But you need to start and then stick with it.
