Green Planet CongressThe world awaits for a change in thinking with the evolution of a green planet congress on the horizon. With the aide of the media and the vast capabilties of the internet those that have vision and communicate the critical nature of which we have never been presented with before will understand. This isn't about Al Gore being right or wrong. Heck, we believe his data is flawed. But that's another blog to be. We credit gentleman Al Gore with lighting the torch for all to focus on. We won't get there people if we don't launch exciting new inventions towards alternative energy and waste management. We have a planet that is sick. We live in an age where the separation of church and state is blurry to most. However, we live in the age where the horizon has never looked better for a change in thinking. A change in leadership leading to a green planet congress the likes of which are sorely needed or future generations will not write about us as they won't have the resources to power the internet and communicate. Our rivers and forrests are in trouble. Our food supply is tainted and growing more dangerous by the day. Cancer isn't about our gene's it's about our food supply. Don't get caught up in the Gene Pool theories. That's one element. But we are in living in an age that is being tested with a food supply that is not nearly as safe as it was 10 short years ago. Our future depends on three basic elements:
Our current governments worldwide are not equipped to tackle this unique problem. We say unique because it is a war like no other. We have to think of it as a war and then trillions of dollars will get pooled to solve the problem. We as nations need to help emerging countries before they pollute their ground and air supplies and eventually have no choice but to wage war on their neighbors to survive. This is not that far away just look at the rivers of China! The American StimulusThe Obama Administration launched an aggressive and historic Federal Stimulus Plan in 2009. The Plan was built around the assumption that money invested into key industries would stimulate spending and thus create jobs. America has endured one of it's longest recessions in history. Some say it is over statistically. But this is measured by revenue growth and not a true indicator when it comes to local cities and towns suffering from lack of new jobs or even the re-hiring from existing companies.One of the key areas (outside of our beloved Banks) of focus was on Energy. We applaud this focus as it not only will jump start job creation in the construction and manufacturing sector but it will begin a strategic movement to rid the nation of it's dependance on Oil. Energy is at the heart of all things good and evil. It drives the global economic leverage between nations both good and bad. By investing aggressively in Alternative Energy sources today we can accelerate the sectors ability to push the envelope in research and development and bring Renewable Energy solutions in the near term versus a constant wait and see what private industry will do. For all the good the Stimulus has started it also has placed America in an isolated competitive position. The Stimulus Act clearly states that products financed by the Act must follow strict guidelines that are deliberately designed to build more American jobs and places the international competition at a disadvantage by design. It was clearly and desperate attempt at a time where something had to be done. This is clear. History, will judge these decisions in time but today we are seeing new project taking shape that had been on the back burner for many months if not years. The Stimulus is the spark that created the demand and acceleration in the programs to finance the projects. But what is the cost with our neighbors in Canada and Mexico let alone the rest of the International Community where sectors like Solar (PV) have been well established and now they are clearly at a disadvantage where they may not have American sites to produce their products. Canada has launched it's own Stimulus and calls it the Canadian FIT program. Similar to the USA Stimulus you must be a manufacturer in Ontario, CA. Thus minimizing competition while stimulating localized job growth in Ontario. A wise decision or retaliation agains the USA? When the green planet congress is all said and done we will have statistical analysis to measure whether or not we elected a truly Green President in Mr. Obama. He talks the talk and seems to be walking the walk but the history of the USA in alternative energy has not been aggressive and thus the title of green planet congress is going to take a lot more than the Stimulus Act to develop the type of legacy the country needs today. From town to town we are seeing the transformations in the way politicians talk and drive their branding. You can go to a town hall meeting without hearing something relating to the localized efforts to establish a green planet congress badge from the Mayor to the School officials. We have true momentum whether real or artificial it took shape in 2009 and now must sustain itself.
