1. They were born sickly
2. They were neglected by their parents.
Mary was neglected by her servants during the cholera
Colin was neglected by his father to stay in his room
Sara was neglected by her father
3. They were spoiled
the native servants always gave Mary her own way
the British servants gave Colin his own way.
The church staff gave Sara her own way
4.No one has ever seen them
People in in India knew about Mary but never saw her.
people in Yorkshire knew about Colin but never saw him.
People in San Fransico knew about Sara but never saw her.
5. the servants/ church staff never talk of their existance
The native servants never talked to anyone about Mary and kept her out of the way. The british servants never told Mary about that Colin, Mr. Craven's son exist.
The church staff never told me that Pastor Smith's daughter Sara exist.
6.Both had parents that couldn't bear to look at them
Mary's mother never wanted a little girl
Colin's father can't bear to see him because he reminds him of his wife.
Sara's father can't bear to look at her because of how she resembles her mother.
7. they were handed to servants/church staff
Mary was cared for by the native servants
Colin was in care by his British servants
Sara was in care of the church staff
