Oil Prices Rising

by Everett Cunningham
(Chicago, IL)

I for one cannot keep watching the out of control increases we are witnessing at the pumps. We must do something and do something NOW not tomorrow but tonight. This nation cannot be held hostage for the rich to get richer. The oil companies like Chevron, BP and UNION 76 continue to post multi billion dollar profits at our expense. When is it illegal to profit from all this?

Why isn't the government stepping in and saying ENOUGH already? If we taxed the oil companies 50 percent o their profits to go to Alternative Fuels we would have a solution within five years. No more fossil fuel. It's bad for the economy (except the rich oil companies) and it's proven to be polluting to our planet.

Everyone should just say that's ENOUGH and flood your congressmen with letters and emails until they do something about it. NO more. Not me. I'm writing anyone with a posted email.

I welcome your support

Los Angeles Gas Prices
by: Raymond

Where else should the gas prices be higher? Yet here we see lower prices than in the less dense usage of Northern California. To top it off the Los Angeles area wastes more per person than any city in America. Once they had the rails now they talk about extending the light rail. Forty feet under the pavement of downtown lies the old Red Car of Los Angeles. Who buried it? The car companies. Why, because they feared the Automobile would never catch on.

Los Angeles should be paying 5.00 per gallon for gas based on their wastefullness.

Alternative Fuel Now
by: Carol Stintz

As oil approaches 100.00 we are all just watching this evolve and do nothing. Oh, you say, what can we do? Plenty. We can get on the band wagon right NOW and flood your congressman with emails and letters demanding that they take a position on alternative fuels. Stop driving for 2 days a week. Work from home or take the bus. Stop using your car 2 days a week.

Walk to the market. Shop seven days a week for groceries and buy less each time so you can carry it home. In Europe this is common place unlike the USA with the sub zero frig! Its time people. Its up to us. Do nothing and your/our children will have to pay for this!
