Welome to world war one of the social network rankings era. Folks this is as fierce as it gets. MySpace has clearly positioned itself (right or wrong) as the Xerox of the industry. They took first mover advantage to new heights. However, there are new signs that the king is in for a long and protracted fight to remain top of the heap.
It was "the" statistic that rocked the world in late 2006. The unheard of had happened and Yahoo was unearthed from the poll position by, MySpace? Not a chance was the shouts from those that mattered. Even today there are those that disagree with the findings. But we live in an era of the moment and these news flashes, followed up by YouTube broadcasts stating the obvious, we jumped the bandwagon and hit MySpace for even more targeted audiences. So just who is winning the wars of the top seed.
Every one is and no one is. This is a rating system with NO standards so trust will always be a severe question mark for those trying to decide just where do I want to target my precious online advertisement dollars. This is the sole purpose we have ratings in the first place. From Google PageRank to Yahoo's rankings we have Nielsen which is best known for TV and yet today no one ranking is proof of anything other than this is as messed up as College Football BCS at the end of the day.
Online subscriptions to Social Networks are skyrocketing. We should all probably by Stock in the EMC's of the world as this has to be taking up a lot of Disk Drive space!
The playing field of the internet has gone from basic browsing to full blown one-to-one imaging. By this we infer that the ability to communicate has gone from one-dimensional texting back and forth (email) to instant messaging all the way to mobility and now Video has begun to take shape.
With the video compression technology and the speed of wireless busting through higher levels of performance the Facebooks and Googles of the world are poised to dominate. One cannot ignore Microsoft either and they are charging ahead in a virtual reality direction that the company believes they have a leadership position in.
In between Google, Facebook and Microsoft is a little known company in Florida. Talk Fusion. This company has taken social networking to higher levels utilizing Video Email as a service. In the past, or perhaps your present, you attached videos to your Mobility device or an email. This was a very large file and some ISP's (hosts) would not allow this due to the size. Enter a unique way of bridging the gap and you have Talk Fusion
Talk Fusion is a gem of an idea and is growing like wild flowers. They are shrinking the need for the keyboard and by offering this as a service you have no issues with your hosting site for email as the process is a URL link in the email with a very professionally produced framework embedded in the email for branding purposes.
The social network rankings could be in for a bit of jolt with all the wrangling going on so stay tuned and keep the thoughts and questions coming to our suggestion box.
Nielsen polls to good old fashion Google Page Ranks are taking steps to isolate the good from the bad. These are not a perfect scoring mechinism so we see (in the media) where one shows a higher rank than the other guess what. The second place dog shouts for joy that they are number one in this poll. Suddenly the social network rankings showing on the other poll doesn't exsit. Sounds a bit like College Football and the infamous BCS rankings.
