The only "mythical" champion in sports

Every sporting event in the Universe crowns a true champion, the last team standing alone at the end.....except, NCAA Div. One College football. Why can't we have a real champion. Every year, someone somewhere questions the team that is annually "appointed" as the mythical National Champion.

The crystal trophy should be earned on the field and not handed out like an Emmy or Academy award. Voters are human and unfortunately, in many instances,cannot be objective. There are vendettas to uphold or conference allegiances to protect. Some are just plain uninformed or ignorant.

Case in point, take a look at the voting record of Howard Schnellenberger.(sp) Computers? Give me a break. Oklahoma being chosen over Texas is a farce and a disgrace. But then, what about Texas Tech, USC, Alabama, Penn State and Utah? This year, there are at least four bowl games where the winner could be thought of as the best team in the country.

Please, let's take all of the guess work out of the equation and allow the best College football team in America to prove it on the field.
