The only true way to determine who is the National Champion

History shows us that using both human and computer polls does not prove consenus. Even before the BCS, there were more than one occasion when teams split the title, even when they played each other during the season. We need finality.

Unfortunately, its all about money. A four or 8 team playoff system would generate even more cash for the NCAA and their members.

The concern about student athletes playing into late January is overblown. Fans that want to attend one or two more games will find a way to make it happen. The current Jan. 1 bowls would still get their paydays.

Those that have conference championship games would probably have to give them up to a playoff system.

BCS : Right Idea
by: Peter Schoefield, VA

Wrong format. In fact, I would argue that the whole East Coast bias is causing this mess. Clearly the PAC 10 improved over the first three weeks of the season. The Big 12 went down in my opinion and the Big 10 is a mess.

The SEC? Is anyone looking at this conference with boys eyes open? If so, please tell me that they are who they are right now. A conference on the decline in whole. This is clearly a bunch of fraternal writers and media hypes that won't come to grip with reality.

The SEC vs the PAC 10 healthy? I would take the PAC 10 even money if every school played each of the SEC schools healthy this year. Yes, the two WA schools are who they are but the other 8 healthy would battle just fine vs. this years SEC. They just wont play a tough travel schedule like the PAC 10 do.

Times up BCS. Im voting for a playoff!

Conference Playoffs vs BCS Format
by: Anonymous

The conference playoffs can continue. In fact, they serve a purpose sort of. I think the SEC and Big 12 are way overrated this season. They routinely score 40 points against each other and everyone keeps applauding the mighty SEC and Big 12.

How about defense? Last I heard Defense wins championships. Did they forget how to stop the run, pass or kickoff return?

Conference Playoffs are another money maker for the SEC and BIG 12 boys. They won't part with that. So let them keep it. But take these Champions and place them in the final 8 or 10 teams and then the playoffs begin
