Washington State Runners

Mount Rainier photo by QT Luong

Tell us your stories and unique training tips on running in the enchanting state of Washington. What events are popular. Keep us up to date on links and dates of the big events that take place. No story is too small or too long. The picture on your right is of Mount Rainier.

Mount Rainier is an active Cascade volcano encased in over 35 square miles of snow and glacial ice. The 14,410’ mountain is surrounded by lush old growth forests, spectacular subalpine meadows and a National Historic Landmark District that showcases the "NPS Rustic" style architecture of the 1920s and 1930s.

With a backdrop like this you can imagine why those living in this great state call it paradise. The motivation from mother nature and the incredibly clean air lends itself to a truly unique running experience for all who visit and of course for those that are lucky enough to call this state their home.

Another great tid bit of information is the extended daylight you get in the summer. Not quite Alaska but you do get sunshine well into the evening hours!

If you have any great tips on places to stay or where to eat and of course the secrets to the primo trails this is the place to share those adventures with all. Hopefully we will have a pay it forward approach to information gathering and a friendly exchange for years to come.

We hope you enjoy this Forum on running in the State of Washington.
